Aquinas Academy is providing full time in person instruction with the option of live streamed remote instruction. Aquinas has continued the tradition of providing high quality instruction, a faith based environment, and support of the social-emotional needs of our students in a safe and healthy manner. Aquinas Academy is so blessed to have a loving strong community, including our parish, parents, staff, and students! AQA is making amazing progress in staying healthy and safe, while also growing our population! Our year has been great as we foster our students in learning with purpose, leading with character, and loving one another! Our school has re-imagined our school year by attending virtual school masses, participating in hands off community service( we collected 476 canned and boxed food items for St. John’s soup kitchen in Newark, animal shelter items, clothing for homeless shelters, and many more service projects to come ), safe recess play in cohorts(outside and indoors), staff development, trunk or treat Halloween celebration, outdoor Thanksgiving prayer service, outdoor Christmas concert and living nativity, and afterschool enrichment classes and clubs. Catholic Schools week was a wonderful success including raising money for Pennies for Patients for Childhood Leukemia, donations of hats and mittens for a local shelter, making Valentine's treat bags for a local shelter, guests speakers from our parish for Vocation day, career research, International/multicultural day to celebrate our diversity, peacemaking activities, and even a visit from our own Livingston Mayor Shawn Klein!
There are many more creative community events to come this spring, including a spring concert, spring musical, and the development of our community garden in which we will learn to grow vegetables and donate our produce to a local soup kitchen. Working together as a diligent community, we will continue to maintain our safe and healthy learning environment. Registration is ongoing for this school year and open for the 21-22 school year.
As we develop our alumni network, we would like to hear from you! We would love to highlight special things you would like to share with our AQA family, successes, and old memories! Please email (eoneill@aqanj.org) with information you would like to share and/or a current picture….and of course….old pictures/memories (if you have any from your time at AQA!). Please look forward to the monthly newsletter sharing great news regarding student projects, successes, events, etc. We will also list upcoming events, in which we love for you to attend and/or participate, including our monthly first Friday mass. Every month we will ask alumni to send us prayer requests which will be included in our First Friday prayers of the faithful.
